Wedding Cakes

Today I started looking through some wedding cake options that I like. Me and my partner are quite open to all various shapes, sizes and fillings of cake as we're not really planning on eating it, its more for show. But i fell in love with all the various decor you can have on a cake and now i look at myself 3 hours later and i have done nothing more with my life than sit on the net all day flicking through image after image of wedding cakes - I live a thrilling life don't I! Colour schemes are important when planning the cake decor, theres no point in having a pink wedding theme if your cake has a bright green ribbon around it, remember to always stick to your colour theme.

I know the cake above may look like a heart attack in a mound BUT at the end of the day are you really going to eat it when your looking all pretty and struggling to breath in your dress? Whether going for an audience wowza or a simplistic stunner, firstly think of price.

PRICE
There's no point in spending £000's on a cake because hardly anyone will eat it, unless you invite lots of students and they'll probably take it home and that will feed them for another week. Save your money on the cake, theres are lots of options out there for good prices.

TEXTURE
Always remember what the food will be throughout the day. If your planning a sit down 3 course meal, who then in there right minds will then want a massive lump of cake after....i know a few of you definitely just said ME right now!! So think, you don't want to spend all that money on a fancy cake if everyone is too full to even eat it, if your stuffing your guests with lots of food throughout the day, go for a less filling cake, a simple jam and cream sponge or even a cheap madeira from your local Tesco (that was a joke, please don't do that) Furthermore, if you have opted for the light buffet option go all out on the cake, bring home the hungry hippo's!!!!! ok that was rude but you get where i'm going don't you?

Have a look through the album of wedding cakes and keep me up to date on your choices, I love to know what all your plans are too xx
